HOME INFORMATION PACK (HIP) There are many sources for your Home Information Pack. Estate Agents and Solicitors are perhaps the obvious option, although not always the cheapest. You can search online for amazingly cheap deals, but be warned …… one of our members recently had to bail out a local family who had paid an internet company for a HIP which never materialised. They thought they had saved £20 but they ended up getting nothing for their money and their sale which had been agreed almost fell through. They paid for two HIPs! Somerset Energy Assessors Association has a trading arm known as SEAA Ltd, and any of our Assessors who wish to can commission a HIP through this office. So you have a choice - pick your favoured Assessor from the list below, or simply order the HIP from SEAA and we will assign a local Energy Assessor to visit you at the property and complete the Energy Performance Certificate. The process is simple - the Assessor will visit at a time convenient to you, complete the EPC and send it in to our office. The rest of the HIP documents will be ordered and in general the whole Pack will be complete in 2 weeks. You are legally able to market your property when it contains the EPC and the new Property Information Questionnaire. We can normally achieve this in a few hours from the time of the EPC inspection. For payment, we collect a cheque at the time of the inspection. You are perfectly safe with us - we are all local, with homes, families and business connections in the area, so we are not going to let you down. We have completed many HIPs for local Clients without a hitch and have references available.
